He must have led such a lonely life. The pace is spot-on and the story is simple and linear, the main strength of the book is the protagonists who, as their surnames suggest, have very different approaches to reality and to overcoming hurdles. If I wasn't already sold on the book at that point which I was , that right there would have sealed the deal for me. I loved how these two people shared a passion and appreciation for books. Then as I started reading, I found that I did enjoy the history parts but I enjoyed all the other parts as well. Absolutely marvelous beginning to an awesome series. I'm most truly captivated by this series at the moment and intend on reading all of these marvelous books back to back. Frosty, but Carwyn said he is definitely Opposite. If you like books that have some history in it you will love love this story. I guess this two people had too much thinking going on in their big brain and is kind of intellectually stimulating to finally read about people who really use their brain instead of their nether region. I'm only going with Gandy bc he's a reader favorite and. This is a book that is so easy to overlook if not for the strengt 3.
I was glad to see him open up more in the second book, plus you cant help but love a man who doesn't give up. There is mystery and intrigue in this story and a romance that will be put to the test. Gili Adams is willing to do anything to protect her parents, even travel to Australia in search of the mythical opal, the Dreamtime Fire. Other than that everything were great. Their mutual attraction was electrifying! This is the 1st installment to this series. A hidden fire is an awesome read. I got used to it a bit later and I realized that it was probably my imagination or just the vibes Gio sent me.
The development of these characters was really nice. Ah, who am I kidding? Giovanni Vecchio back on the path of a mystery he'd abandoned years before. I chose to read it initially because I knew it dealt with old texts and some italian history. Especially once you get to know the professor and his quirky little 'family' of a butler, a priest and a kitteh! A new series for me to obsess over!! History and the paranormal collide in A Hidden Fire, the first book in the bestselling Elemental Mysteries series and semifinalist in the Kindle Book Review's Best Indie Books of 2012. This is quite a refreshing addition to the paranormal romance genre that has, for me, become kind of stagnant. The way that the mysteries surrounding the leading man Gio unfold is really interesting and Beatrice is a really good and intelligent heroine who is written in such a way that you can see why she caught Gio's interest even though she is way younger than him - she really seemed special enough to actually warrant the interest she stirred up. Yes it is about vampires but the new spin she placed was that all vampires have an affinity to them. Gio was charming, quirky and dorky. Not too fast and not too slow. Just with less clothes, which makes it far more brilliant.
